Liz Seegert has spent more than 30 years reporting and writing about health and general news topics for print, digital and broadcast media. Her primary beats currently include aging, social determinants and health policy. She is topic editor on aging for the Association of Health Care Journalists, reporting on the many health issues affecting older adults. Liz is a co-producer of “HealthStyles” on WBAI-FM in New York and the media fellows program director at the Center for Health, Media & Policy, Hunter College. Her work has appeared in numerous media outlets, including Consumer Reports, AARP, Medical Economics, The Los Angeles Times, HealthCetera Radio (Pacifica), Home Care Technology Report, Women Magazine, The Hartford Courant, The Atlantic online and New America Media. She has also published journal articles in Practical Diabetology and Journal of Healthcare Information Management. Liz earned her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University and a master’s in Social Policy, health care concentration, from Empire State College, State University of New York. She is a JAWS board member and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. The best part of any day is playing with Duke, her 4-year-old rescue dog.
