Her story in Los Angeles magazine “The Trouble with Oxy,” about campus sexual violence, was named one of the best longreads of 2015. Mona is the author of the 2014 memoir “Blood Brother: The Gene That Rocked My Family.” Her essays have also appeared in several anthologies, including “The Maternal is Political: Women Writers at the Intersection of Motherhood and Social Change” and “Mothers Who Think: Tales of Real-Life Parenthood.”
